Indian River Trail Report – 03/11

Is the curtain closing on an excellent snowmobile season? Only the Shadow knows. This weekend was not snowmobile-friendly and our trails endured some heavy rain. There’s no fresh snow over the base so exposed areas are likely one long sheet of ice. Side roads are icy and road edges are crusty. It’s still piled high out there. But the banks did shrink some with the 40 degree weekend and rain we had. Today we’re already at 36 and might see more light rain. So we won’t be grooming tonight. Tomorrow and Wednesday could be interesting, with snow and temps only in the high 20’s predicted. So even though it’s gray and wet out, we lost an hour sleep, and it’s Monday–don’t let it get you down…It’s all good.

Indian River Trail Report – 03/06

Yesterday was a repeat of the day before–steady temps, no new snow, and light traffic. Right now we’ve got overcast skies but the temperature is warmer than yesterday. We are at a very comfortable 30 right now. Flurries are predicted for today but so are temps above freezing. We’ll have to see how high the mercury climbs and then report on trail conditions tomorrow. Today’s another great day to ride our trails if you can!
