FREDERIC – GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> 01/03
I never made it on here yesterday but there were a steady stream of sleds and its now a cloudy and calm saturday morning at 24 degrees. Havent seen any sleds yet but have had a few calls. I have had several people that I have met thru the years that I havent seen in a long time. Its great to catch up with people. Steve who has a place in traverse city stopped and I rode with him up around lake leelanau years ago. Several people from pennsylvania and I want to send a shout out to Jim Wilkerson in Pennsylvania. He is another great memory from the past. A group of Indiana riders and one of them said I had inspired him to get his knees fixed after I had mine done. Another family Brian and Diedre who bought a home thru me about 20 years ago and brought their daughters in. One of them was only 2 back then and is now in college. I have seen alot of kids grow up over the years and now those little kids are bringing their own in. Thats the circle of life…….Here are some pics from yesterday and a east and west shot of the trail 7 north of the high school on old 27.Snow is holding good…..Thanks for checking in. Pete

GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via The Thirsty Sturgeon >> They always say, “Be careful what you wish for!” Remember in early December when I wishing for a good snow season…well you can blame me. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Lake effect snow continues through Thursday, with widespread accumulations of 2 to 4 inches across northwest Lower and near/around Whitefish Point. Localized totals near 6 inches are possible. Started out riding to Frederic from home and then to Starvation Lake, Alba, Jordan Valley Trail, D & K formally Larrys in Elmira, up the Chandler HIlls trail until I lost the trail right at dark, then a little ditch banging as after i lost the trail I started south and east as I knew I would hit the highway. Came out by Vanderbilt and theh hit the 7 trail back to Gaylord, Waters and Frederic…..Perfect day of riding. Met up with Big John and Speed Bump for Spike burgers about 9 last night.I might go again this afternoon as I am thinking about a burger at Talleys. Supposed to get cold this weekend. Rode to Lovells last night and then home, left home this morning and rode towards Starvation Lake and then down to Frederic, conditions on trails nice and fluffy and smooth. Happy to say that trail 7 south out of Frederic along with trails 47, 679 and 76 all very nice. I rode 26 miles back here to Frederic and came into sledheads to warm up and am heading back out. Its 16 degrees at almost 1 in the afternoon. Pics are from last night and this morning. Heading back out. Closed again and gone riding. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos
