FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 3/10
It’s a nice 23 degrees in downtown Frederic this thursday morning, no new snow but trails along m 93 were still white with no snirt showing (yet) Trail to waters looked pretty good yesterday too but I did see a couple monster water holes along the way. I only saw 2 sleds in town here yesterday. So bottom line the way I see it is that you can ride some if you want to try ( as I have seen worse than what we have now). Dont expect a great ride, roads you cross are super dry……I did have a couple people stop on their way to the u.p. yesterday so that was good to see. Only a little possible snow predicted for friday and saturday so as I said yesterday, its a crap shoot…..Wish I had something better to say. Thanks for checking in. Pete

FROM Great Lakes Weather & Climate >> 📡 Statewide radar loop through 10 AM today (11/9) shows our two distinct snowmakers in progress.
The first one is the synoptic (aka "system") snow associated with a low that is moving east through southern Ohio. The counterclockwise flow around the low is shown over Metro Detroit as moisture interacts with decreasing temps, leading to this morning's snowfall.
Over the U.P. and Lake Michigan, the north winds are ushering in the coldest air of the season, which activates lake effect snow and transitions to the second portion of this snow event. Counties in the corner of southwest lower Michigan, northern Indiana and Illinois are set to receive a firehose of lake effect over the next 24-36 hrs, resulting in accumulations that could push one foot.
Portions of northern lower Michigan and the Saginaw Bay region are also set to receive lake effect snowfall through this evening, with amounts of 3-6 inches possible, with isolated higher amounts. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #newberry #soo #gaylord #cadillac #traversecity #petoskey
