FREDERIC – GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> 01/12
It’s a nice calm monday morning with no new snow. I never put an update out on sunday but we had about 5 inches of new snow late saturday night. It was very quiet around Frederic yesterday as the snow came late but for those that got to ride it it made a pleasant surprise. That is including me. We headed out for a ride about 3 and found alot of great snow and rode over to Lovells and around the air to ground and back. I acutually saw the grayling groomer out but he was coming from behind the high school and turning on to 47 trail. Of course trail 7 still had not been touched and it beat me up again. I sure dont know what the deal is on that. We found alot of deep snow out there and while its supposed to be around 32 today and tommorow it should turn colder towards the weekend so I think it will be o.k. Still alot of ice underneath and we did hit plenty of wet water holes last night too. It was about 10 by the time I got back home. All the pics below are from our ride yesterday and the other 2 guys standing by the shop were a couple of canadians (eh) that stopped in. Brian and his Uncle Wayne King stopped by. Started out riding to Frederic from home and then to Starvation Lake, Alba, Jordan Valley Trail, D & K formally Larrys in Elmira, up the Chandler HIlls trail until I lost the trail right at dark, then a little ditch banging as after i lost the trail I started south and east as I knew I would hit the highway. Came out by Vanderbilt and theh hit the 7 trail back to Gaylord, Waters and Frederic…..Perfect day of riding. Met up with Big John and Speed Bump for Spike burgers about 9 last night.I might go again this afternoon as I am thinking about a burger at Talleys. Supposed to get cold this weekend. Rode to Lovells last night and then home, left home this morning and rode towards Starvation Lake and then down to Frederic, conditions on trails nice and fluffy and smooth. Happy to say that trail 7 south out of Frederic along with trails 47, 679 and 76 all very nice. I rode 26 miles back here to Frederic and came into sledheads to warm up and am heading back out. Its 16 degrees at almost 1 in the afternoon. Pics are from last night and this morning. Heading back out. Closed again and gone riding. Thanks for checking in. Pete #gaylord #snowphotos

Be sure to take the proper precautions if spending time outdoors! Conditions improve this afternoon.
Good chances for snow showers will continue this week. After the cold today, temperatures rebound a bit Wednesday, but that will not last.
