Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/13

22 degrees with light snow in the air here in Beautiful Downtown Frederic. I have been trying to catch up on plowing and just trying to get things done. I really never thought we would get snow so quick. The snow has kind of dampened up some which makes it a bit more packy. I have seen a few sleds around but still none here into the shop so far. I walked cross town and down the in town trail by the railroad tracks in grayling yesterday afternoon. In walking on the trail it was packed well and I was surprised that I didn’t see any dirt on it. Its supposed to stay cold all week with some system snow on Saturday according to the weatherman. So things could possibly improve. I think its still way to early for the groomers to even think about it yet. I have not talked to the groomer guru aka Keith from Fays Motel yet to find out his thoughts but I will in the next day or so. That’s it for now, gonna go move more snow. Thanks for checking in and Please Ride Safely. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/22-degrees-with-light-snow/

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/10

It’s a snowy Saturday morning in Frederic but don’t get to excited. Its 19 degrees at 7 a.m. here in Sledheads. We have about 8 to 10 inches of snow total in the past couple of days. While it looks great and deep it honestly is a worthless snow. Its all lake effect and the fact that we had no base or anything frozen if you were to ride in this you get one pass and are then down to the dirt.

I did see three sleds at the Frederic Inn yesterday afternoon and I stopped in and talked to those guys.

They had rode from Mancelona to Starvation Lake and over to here. They said the same thing I just said that they were going down to the dirt and the snow was deeper to the west, but……they were happy to be riding. I checked the motels just for the heck of it on the way here this morning and there was one rig which looked pretty cool at the Ramada Inn with 2 sleds on the top of the box of a chevy truck.

I would expect that a few riders will still try to get out there and try it today and that’s good because I do sell carbides and slides — http://frederic-mi.com/snowy-saturday-morning-in-frederic-but/
