Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/04

It’s snowing and blowing pretty hard out there.

Most all kids in northern Michigan are thrilled this morning to wake up to find out its a SNOW DAY…..

We really have only had a couple inches but the winds are strong and its icy out underneath, however we still have a winter storm warning going on and they say we may get up to a foot.

I always like to hear that but I will believe it when I see it. I do think that things will come together for this coming weekend. Sled traffic was very light yesterday and I would expect it to be again today.

There was a fly buzzing around here in the shop yesterday just before I left so I took my hat off and took a swat at him. Well that wasn’t a good idea because I broke the fluorescent tube and have been picking up glass all over this morning, and yes the fly got away.

Today’s pics are just one of some sleds here yesterday and the other pic I took out the front door a few minutes ago. If any of you want to come up this weekend our rental cottage is still available for this weekend, just give me a call on it. Wayside Inn Cottage Thanks for checking in. Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/03

It’s a cloudy and quiet morning here in Frederic at 35 degrees.

It was up to about 37 yesterday but I really don’t think we lost much snow as it was damp too.

A few sleds out and about but I haven’t seen any so far today. Trails look worn at crossing I passed this morning. The good news is most of northern Michigan is under a winter storm warning starting at 4 a.m. Wednesday morning…..I have to believe that it should be an o.k. weekend of riding this coming weekend.

Just trying to get things done around the shop here today. Pics below are of one of a big group that was in yesterday along with some riders getting their picture by my Welcome To Frederic sign on the trail across the street.

I am still waiting for someone to conquer the snow pile in the alley behind the shop. Who ever the first one is to do it needs to have a long track with big paddles and a bunch of friends with him too in case they get stuck between the 2 piles.

I think once a couple make it thru there it will be easier to do. Thanks for checking in. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/cloudy-quiet/
