Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/09

It’s almost noon and light snow and 23 out here in Frederic, we had another couple inches of fluffy lake effect overnight.

Sled traffic was steady yesterday for a sunday and I haven’t seen or heard one sled yet today.

I went for a ride yesterday afternoon up to Starvation Lake and looped around down to grayling and home for a bit before riding back to Frederic. Trails were very good and The Hideaway was packed as usual. On the way back

I came up on both Grayling Groomers on trail 7 making it flat as a pancake. That was really nice and its especially nice when they run 2 at the same time.

I am most likely going to be out tomorrow so there will probably not be an update on here for Tuesday. I will try to do it on my phone if I can otherwise I should be on Wednesday. One of the pics below was taken by one of the groomer drivers on I belive trail 679, nice snowgirl…….Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/light-snow-and-23-out/

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/08

We had a nice 3 new inches overnight and its 9 degrees this morning in Frederic.

The first thing I saw at the first trail crossing this morning about 8 as I left home were 3 deer running down the trail along M 93 and then as I drove into Grayling 4 sleds already on the trail near downtown.

A few trailers parked out back already this morning and riders are starting to show up.

I cant stress enough about staying off the railroad tracks. You need to be aware of where you are riding. Yesterday so many sleds were riding right down the center of the tracks here in Frederic and I know most riders don’t even know they are on them. A railroad trespass ticket is about $300.

The first three pictures today are from an accident out by Lovells Friday night.

You can imagine what kind of shape this guy is in. That’s it for today, thanks for checking in AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO STAY AWAY FROM THE RAILROAD TRACKS. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/3-new-inches-overnight-2/
