Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/01

Happy New Year to all but I don’t like this sun today.

It’s up to 29 and way to sunny out which isn’t going to do the trails anything special.

When I got here at ten there were already 5 trucks parked in the lot with sleds buzzing around and getting ready to ride. Traffic really was a lot slower than I expected yesterday after such a busy day on Friday.

I guess everyone must have headed back for home. This morning trailer counts were still at 2 at the days inn with the big black dodge being the die hard and still there after being there all week with his family.

Only 8 left at the Ramada. I had trail reports of great trails to horrible trails yesterday but that is just pretty much normal and we are still way ahead of last years conditions so you just have to take what you can get.

One of the pics below is from up by wolverine where a groomer got off the trail and was stuck. Parker and his dad had rode up there from here and spent the night in Indian River and then back to Frederic.

Thanks for checking in and I think its time to start the snow chants up again. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/happy-new-year-but-2/

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/31

Happy New Years Eve Day to all of us with another 3 to 7 inches of snow overnight to us.

I had about 3 to 4 inches of nice system snow at my house in grayling this morning and about 7 inches up here in Frederic which seemed more like lake effect.

Still that’s almost a foot in two days. Riders were out full force yesterday and I expect today will be busier. I left home at 6 this morning to start plowing. Just finished up outside here at sledheads a bit ago. I made it here about 7:30 and took a pic out front just as it was getting daylight as I thought it looked pretty good out there with all my lights on. Plowing my storarge units is what takes all the time, darn that’s a lot of snow to move.

With all the new readers I have picked up on here the past couple weeks here is a message to all of you. I have fenced secure outdoor trailer parking just a half mile south of Sledheads if you don’t want to haul your trailer back and forth everyweek.

There are already three trucks and trailers in my back lot in my park and ride section. I stayed here till 9 last night as sleds kept riding thru. Not sure how late I will stay tonight but if they keep coming in I will stay. Will open at ten on sunday morning just in case I can make it till midnite tonite. So ride safely and thanks for checking in. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/happy-new-years-eve-day-with-fresh-snow/
