Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/11

It’s 29 degrees and things have been steady here in Frederic since I walked in at 9.

There is a fun run registration over at the Swamp so their parking lot has been busy since 10:30.

No new snow overnight and no matter what the weather does today I can already see its going to be very busy.

Trailer counts this morning were 8 at Motel 72, only 2 at the Days Inn and 42 at the Ramada in Grayling. Last night I saw both grayling groomers come thru Frederic about 7, and saw one of them going thru grayling earlier this morning.

Had some guys in here that already had come over here from Lewiston reporting great riding.

Pictures below are of a Mach 1 that burned up last night currently setting out front of Sledheads. Nobody hurt but just a pile of scrap now. The fire happened on the trail up near Starvation Lake yesterday afternoon. Thanks for checking in. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/saturday-morning-in-frederic/

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/10

Snow is in the air this morning in Frederic, only about another inch since yesterday.

It’s 15 out and I am just not sure what to say about the weekend, forecast for tomorrow says it could be 44 so will it hold out for us or what?

Already had 3 sleds ride thru this morning but they didn’t stop in. Trailer in town were 13 at the Ramada and 4 at Days Inn. All pictures below were taken about an hour ago on my way to Frederic (8:30 a.m.)

My opinion on the trails is, yes you can ride, is it great? no but you can get a ride in and there is enough to for slide lube. Just had a guy stop on his way thru from Marquette as he had been in the u.p. for 4 days.

He said he has never seen it so busy up there during the week. He couldn’t find a room from st ignace all the way to Marquette because they were all packed with sledders. The u.p. is getting hit again today. I just talked to Patti at the Clark Motel in Strongs and she said its been crazy busy there all week and the snow just keeps coming. Remember if any of you want to buy a motel in the U.P. that I have the Clark Motel listed, you can cater to the sleds in the winter and the bikers in the summer. To bad we couldn’t get it here like the east coast is getting hammered right now. Thanks for checking in and Please ride Safely. Pete — http://frederic-mi.com/snow-is-in-the-air-2/
