Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/02

It’s already noon in Frederic, sunny and 18 degrees, only a dusting of new snow overnight. I got here at ten and there have been sleds steady stopping in. That really surprises me as I thought there would be no one around today. Had some Canadians in along with some guys from Pennsylvania. Another couple in here right now came from starvation lake and said its pretty good, the Pennsylvania guys came from Lewiston and said it was fair.

We still certainly could use more snow.

Yesterday on New Years day there was hardly any one out which surprised me as I thought it would be busy. So far today way more riders. Had a few more people drop their trailers at storage so they didn’t have to haul them back. That’s about it for today. I did go to the Fredreic Inn last night to try for round 4 of the prime but they didn’t have it. They usually only do it Friday and Saturday nights but this year got 3 nights in a row because of the way New Years fell….. I really didn’t need it anyways. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/01

And we are off into a New Year of riding….lets hope the snow keeps coming. Sled traffic was busy all day till about 5 on sunday. Still the same reports of both good and bad trails but a lot of people having a good time. Overnight it was warmer at about 11 degrees right now with just a little bit (less than an inch) of system type snow which is good to get. I got here about 10 and have seen only a few sleds thru town so far. Trailer counts were down to 2 at the Days Inn and 13 at the Ramada this morning so people are heading home. I would imagine I will have people stopping in here for a pit stop to stretch on their way home from the U.P. I have also had several people drop their trailers down at my storage facility so that is going good. I only took one picture yesterday and at the time didn’t realize who I was taking a picture of as they had pulled up out front. Turns out it was the infamous Ohio Pooper and his family. I actually have banned him out of here because of what he left in my parking lot one time……guess where his nick name came from……however I was nice cause he had his family with him…..Also I have had 2 different riders report that they have lost side panels off of their Polaris’s so if anyone comes across them please let me know.So that’s it for today. Happy New Year to All….Thanks for checking in. Pete
