Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/11

Toast, that pretty sums up the trails this Thursday morning. I added one more pic in with the same 3 that I took yesterday morning and that was at the trail head that starts 3 miles west of grayling on m 72.

It stayed cloudy and 40s all day yesterday and we lost a lot of snow all day and thru the night and its currently 45 and supposed to stay that way all day before the cool down starts up again. The trail along m 93 by camp grayling was all brown as I drove by it this morning too.

The Alabama boys made their 18 hour, 1000 mile drive from Demopolis all the way to Grayling and arrived last night. I told them before hand that I didn’t think it was going to be very good but they are road warriors and they made the trip. They are staying at my rental cottage so hopefully they can do something fun. Pics below are from this morning……I don’t imagine tomorrow mornings report is going to be cheery…….

I know a lot of people look forward to this extended MLK weekend and many will come north anyways and instead of sleds they will be stopping by in their cars and trucks………Thanks for checking in and do some heavy duty snow chanting cause we need it bad. Pete

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/10

Let’s see how this goes. Thankfully this morning in Frederic at 10:30 A.M. its 30 degrees and very cloudy. Today and tomorrow are the two days that will make or break the trails. Temps tomorrow are supposed to be into the 40s or even 50. We need to hope it stays cloudy both days.

What I did this morning was take 3 pics of the trail crossings. Both east & west at trail 7 north of the high school and trail 7 at the north end of Frederic along the tracks towards Gaylord. That trail to me looked the thinnest with stones showing on it. After Thursday its supposed to cool back down to the teens and snow is supposed to start back up so that may save us for the weekend.

I am going to post the same three pics tomorrow morning and Friday morning to see what happens at those crossings. This is MLK weekend coming up which seems early this year and many people count on an extended weekend of riding. Like I keep saying only time will tell if we can pull it off. Also I have one 10 x 12 storage unit that came open that will fit 2 sleds if anyone needs inside sled storage. Thanks for checking in. Pete
