Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/28

It’s been holding steady, no new snow over night but still nice and cold at 9 degrees at 10 this morning in downtown Frederic. First 2 riders of the day were in, funny thing I saw those guys in downtown grayling crossing by the courthouse, then they crossed in front of me by the high school and then I saw them at 612 in Frederic, they were making good time as I was driving. Then a few minutes later after I got here in the shop they were in here…..I took their picture out here on the side by my Welcome To Frederic sign as I was going to put a picture on today of it anyways. Sled traffic was steady yesterday and trailer counts this morning were the same as yesterday at the motels. Also a picture below is of the big Free Sledheads trailer decals that I have. If you come in be sure to get one for your trailer, I have quite a few colors to pick from. As traffic picks up here I see many familiar faces from over the seasons coming back in and meeting a lot of new people too. Trails are holding pretty well thanks to the cold but we could still use more snow. I still haven’t talked to anyone that has made it up to the bridge but I am sure that is coming soon. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/27

Cold and crunchy out this morning but I think a bit warmer than last night. I have to say I like it when its so cold out there that there is a loud crunch with every step you take. It started out slow on Tuesday but by about 3 it was kicking in with many sleds around in Frederic. Reports of good riding in many spots and many groomer sightings too. Well I haven’t seen any groomers myself, several riders told me they saw them out by Dingmans, Settings, and trail 4 by Gaylord. I saw fresh groomer tracks on trail 7 by the high school this morning. So things are starting to come around. I think its going to get busier in the next couple of days. Its 5 degrees this morning and there was no new snow in Frederic to speak of overnight. I certainly did move a lot of snow with my plow truck yesterday. In checking the motels in grayling this morning there were only 2 trailers at the Days Inn but 16 at the Ramada. The cold is supposed to stay with us and hopefully more snow coming too. Pics below are from yesterday and last night. Thanks for checking in. Pete
