Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/04

Cold, not really. I cant figure out all the whining about it being cold out. Its 11:30 on Thursday in Frederic and its a nice comfy good riding temp of 3 degrees. Schools were closed thruout northern Michigan (not grayling). Maybe its still coming but it really has been a nice day so far. Of course no new snow but still the cold is keeping our snow.

There have been a few sleds thru town this morning and a few people into the shop here. I am even going to go for a ride here shortly myself.

If anyone is ready for u.p. riding I would like to remind you of my favorite place to ride of in the u.p. and that would be at Patti & Andys Clark Motel in Strongs. Give them a call if you want a really cool place to stay and hang your helmet at. If your not ready to go to the u.p. you can always come to my place and stay for the weekend too. Our cottage is clean and comfy and if its to cold to ride you can stare at the firelplace……..Sorry I don’t have much else to say today but I am gonna get dressed and ride. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/02

It’s already noon in Frederic, sunny and 18 degrees, only a dusting of new snow overnight. I got here at ten and there have been sleds steady stopping in. That really surprises me as I thought there would be no one around today. Had some Canadians in along with some guys from Pennsylvania. Another couple in here right now came from starvation lake and said its pretty good, the Pennsylvania guys came from Lewiston and said it was fair.

We still certainly could use more snow.

Yesterday on New Years day there was hardly any one out which surprised me as I thought it would be busy. So far today way more riders. Had a few more people drop their trailers at storage so they didn’t have to haul them back. That’s about it for today. I did go to the Fredreic Inn last night to try for round 4 of the prime but they didn’t have it. They usually only do it Friday and Saturday nights but this year got 3 nights in a row because of the way New Years fell….. I really didn’t need it anyways. Thanks for checking in. Pete
