Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/17

Still the same, sautrday morning 22 degrees and not a flake of new snow with still poor conditions. I have to say I was surprised at how many people stopped in yesterday on their way to and from the u.p. I am sure its buzzing with sleds up there. The only 3 sleds that rode into here yesterday were the 3 guys from Ohio, I did see a few buzz thru across the street but its rock hard and no lube. There were 2 guys just in that told me they rode 80 miles yesterday around here and it was rock hard…..One group of guys that stopped in came in the door hollering wake up……but I fooled them I was awake….so far only 2 sets of people in this morning and its about 10 a.m. so who knows what the rest of the day will bring. I didn’t even take any pictures so Thanks for checking in. Pete

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/16

Friday Morning 10:20 a.m. Well it did get cold overnight and hardened everything up and its 25 degrees right now. The only thing the weather did wrong is it forgot to snow here. Right now though there are some pretty heavy flakes in the air but that just started.

All the many water puddles that were there yesterday are skimmed over but not frozen solid.

There are 3 riders out in my lot right now that came up from Pioneer Ohio that started out from a cabin right here in Frederic. I told them to head up north and west and I think it will be hard but better over that way. Lube for their slides is going to be one of the problems.

If you are heading to or from the U.P. stop in and see me. Exit 264 on I 75. I will be here seeing what kind of excitement happens in Frederic.

There are also two events going on this weekend, the Winterfest at Lakes of the North with Freestyle Jumpers and in Marion their Snowfest with vintage sled races at the fairgrounds. All pics below are from this morning on the way here and of the Ohio Riders……..I wrote Sat Morn on the Ohio guys pic but its really Friday morning, just feels like sat. Thanks for checking in. Pete
