Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/04

Sledding sucks but Ice Skating is great right now. We have lost a ton of snow since yesterday and now at 10:30 a..m its 41 degrees. Very icy everywhere there were trails. Pretty much starting over again but that hard ice should make a good base if it stays.

Just had some guys stop that were on their way to the u.p. hopefully its better up there. Gee everything was so great for a couple weekends and now the wait is on again. It is supposed to turn colder tomorrow so that is a glimmer of hope.

The first pic below is of the driveway outside of Sledheads, all the other pics I took on Saturday at the Swamp & Frederic Inn. It looked a lot better then.

Thanks for checking in and THINK SNOW along with some chanting Also in the lost and found department I heard the guy with the lost phone was at the Swamp looking for it but I never saw him here, the rope and bag of goodies is still here and also from right near the shop here from this weekend is something quite heavy that I know they are missing and I have it in the back room. Found on the trail close by……..Pete

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/03

Squishy, Misty, Drizzly 38 degrees, not what we want to see and when this hardens up we are gonna have a rock hard base again. Its 10;30 sunday morning and there have been a few sleds in so far, not ideal conditions but they are doing the best they can.

The last customer of the night yesterday were the Detroit Diesel Boys, had a good visit and then a couple beers later on at Tinkers Junction, good stop cause its close to home for me and they were staying at the motel next door.

Pic below. Also in the pics was a rider that was in here with Big John and he came here from Japan to ride and go ice fishing. He is the guy with the big Monster M on his shirt. He enjoyed riding and fishing, they don’t catch fish like this in Tokyo. His name is Chishaki but its just easier to call him Tokyo. Also was checking out my rental house on the south side of Grayling last night about 8:30 and saw 2 sled headlights coming at me and I knew they had to be lost sledders as there are never sleds over that way. I stopped to see if they needed help and they both knew who I was. They were lost Canadians and had no idea where they were, I had them follow me to get them back on the trail near 7 11 in Grayling. Got them rolling again after we got up by the Ramada and they were back on track to get themselves back to Houghton Lake……

That’s about it for today so Thanks for Checking in and time to start up the Snow Chants again. I am also going to do a post in the next couple of days for my new Polar Vortex is our friend shirts. They will be available in different colors, and in hoodies, crew neck sweats, long & short sleeve t’s so watch for that post this week. Pic of the shirt is below. Also had several complaints of sledders running into Jeeps on the trail just west of Grayling. There is no way those should be on the trails as they rut them all up and it is a big ticket for them too.Thanks for checking in. Pete
