Friday Morning 10:20 a.m. Well it did get cold overnight and hardened everything up and its 25 degrees right now. The only thing the weather did wrong is it forgot to snow here. Right now though there are some pretty heavy flakes in the air but that just started.

All the many water puddles that were there yesterday are skimmed over but not frozen solid.

There are 3 riders out in my lot right now that came up from Pioneer Ohio that started out from a cabin right here in Frederic. I told them to head up north and west and I think it will be hard but better over that way. Lube for their slides is going to be one of the problems.

If you are heading to or from the U.P. stop in and see me. Exit 264 on I 75. I will be here seeing what kind of excitement happens in Frederic.

There are also two events going on this weekend, the Winterfest at Lakes of the North with Freestyle Jumpers and in Marion their Snowfest with vintage sled races at the fairgrounds. It’s 38 degrees out and we lost a lot today, all pics below I have taken in the past hour. The 3 guys came from out by starvation lake and they said it was actually very good out that way. The worst area right here in Frederic and I have been told trail 7 to Gaylord is a mud path.

2 guys in here right now, one guy who flew in from Aspen, Co and there pic out front is the one with the orange jacket on. They said the same thing, better to the north and west. My parking lot looking pretty bad as you can see by the pics. Its supposed to be cold tonight and who knows if we will get snow tonight as predicted.

So here are the pics, Winterfest at lakes of the north this weekend……at least that is north and west of here.

Trail crossings in pics are trail 7 north to Gaylord, and trail 7 north and south at cr 612 crossing. Those 2 guys are just riding on from here now. I have seen about ten sleds here in town since about noon. Thanks for checking in. Pete
