Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/24

It’s a 38 degree icy sunday morning. It rained during the night but nothing right now. Just many icy spots and lots of puddles. Just what we want to see. Its almost ten and had my first people just in and they are loaded up and heading back, 3 trailers at the Days Inn and 23 at the Ramada this morning and most of them were loaded up already. Blizzard warning on till tomorrow morning. Time will tell. One thing I haven’t mentioned all winter is that there is no gas in Lovells this year so keep that in mind if you do get to ride there.

I found an interesting movie yesterday on my Roku that was called Snowbeast. It was a 70s movie and the Snowbeast was grabbing people off the ski slopes. The good part in the show was the way they were buzzing around on 1970s Arctic Cat Panthers, made it look really fun and they didn’t even wear face masks or helmets. Pics below including dinner last night with Chubby Roger & Grayling & Shelly Call…..it was good to see them. So now our wait is on again to see if we get more snow. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/23

The calm before the storm. Its very calm and quiet out there. All trails and crossings that I looked at on the way to Frederic this morning surprised me that they are still all nice and white. Riders that were in all day yesterday still reported great trails even though it was getting squishy at the 38 degrees that it stayed at most of the day. It cooled down and firmed up during the night again and from the trailer counts this morning people are still thinking positive as there were 5 at the Days Inn and 32 at the Ramada. Tommorows forcast is interesting to say the least, don’t know if it will be rain, snow or sleet but I can tell you tomorrow. Just had the first person in here this morning and he said he rode to the bridge and back yesterday on perfect trails…….Of course now its Saturday and with any amount of traffic it doesn’t take long for perfect trails to be not so perfect. Pics below are from a group of Canadians that came in. I liked the Joker Ha Ha Ha on the arctic cat…..Thanks for checking in. Pete
