Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 03/31

Sunday Morning, last day of the riding season, well it has been pretty much over around Frederic, Grand Marais got in a full season with their last groom being last night. Pics below I am posting that are from thier last post…….

All in all we ended up alot better around the Frederic area then what it started out like. We pretty much lost all of December and January but February and the first couple weeks of March were the best we have seen in quite a while. This winter roller coaster is never predictable with its on and off again appearances. There were a couple people that stopped in here on their way north on thursday and that was it.

I am going to stay here till about 5 today just to see if anyone stops on their way back south. I dont imagine there will be to many. Now all we can do is hope for an April storm but if that does happen its only good for the people that are right here and that can get out on it right away. Weather looks pretty warm for this coming week. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 03/30

Saturday Morning, next to the last day of the season and we have fresh snow……only about an inch but it makes it look good.  Ohio Brian and i went for a ride yesterday, we were never more than 1.5 miles from Sledheads and we found great snow. Still more than a foot in spots. We didnt leave till about 1:30 as the warmth helped melt the snow on top to give us lube. We were out about 2 hours, only went 15 miles total but it was quality miles. Any of the actual trail we touched were very icy but the two tracks were fantastic. I am thinking of going again sunday afternoon. For some reason or another I did take a lap thru the motel parking lots and there were no sled trailers there but there were two trailers with mud trucks at the Ramada, there must have been something going on as I saw other trucks on trailers in town yesterday too. Here is a link to the video from our ride yesterday .   March 29, 2019 riding in Frederic    Pics below are from our ride yesterday and my truck at home this morning…. Thanks for checking in. Pete
