LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – Left lake Gogebic at 8am and picked up trail 8 east to Ewen/Bruce Crossing – very good until close to Ewen where there’s less snow and small rocks showing – crossing hwy 28 trail is back in the woods and very good. Took trail 3 and 13 to Greenland – very good to excellent. On the way back picked up trail 13 from East shore road to Root Cellar – very good to excellent – pics are of trails 3/8/13 – thanks to the groomers from 2 or 3 clubs that made the trails great again after a very heavy weekend of snowmobiling.

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Bergland Bay Bar​ – Trail report:

We’ve had several groups come through today saying that everything they have been on in this area is in great condition. Hats off to the groomers and a special shout out to Mother Nature. Keep in mind we are looking at a couple of very busy weekends coming up. From what I’ve gathered, the groomer operators are going to be out whipping things back into shape on a nightly basis. Some groomers will be out between 4 AM till noonish, prior to heavy traffic. Others will be out between 8 PM and 4 AM. If you come across one of these hard working peeps, please be courteous and let them through. In other words, get out of the way. They have a job to do. Be safe out there. Come visit Lake Gogebic. It’s a beautiful area. Respect the trails and respect the laws and rules. We’re looking forward to seeing your smiling faces.

Rode trail 1 north to White Pine then onto Silver City – South Boundary road (trail 11) and down 102 all very good to excellent except trail along Lake Superior which is typically not much snow but enough. When I stepped off the trail midway thru Porcupine Mtns it was almost 30” deep. Twelve plus inches of snow from Bergland north this week was a bonus.

All Gogebic Area Trails are reported to be in good to excellent condition and have been recently groomed.

Groomers were out last night working on repairing a water hole on 8. Here’s a few photos that were sent in by our reporters. It’s still snowing up here and we should be in for an excellent weekend of riding.
