Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/07
January 7, 2023
19 degrees this morning and cloudy. Looking at all the long range forecasts makes me sad. I hate this job sometimes. I will try to put a positive spin on something, so here we go……..
The town trail has lots of snow and no water….lol….other than that south of town sucks. I talked to the boys who ran it yesterday and thats what they told me. We even had to close the gates to the federal forest section because of water. The power line don`t look so good either.
Groomer Glenn WAS gonna hit the Point trails today. He decided to take a little sno-mo ride around them yesterday and discovered 3 large water holes had opened up on the northern section. He told me they are deep and you can`t get around them and had doubts a groomer could make it thru. Other than that section the trail looks good (my positive spin).
Groomer Mike C. is gonna hit the Pine Stump trail today. This trail is fairly dry but I know there are a lot of dirt and gravel spots, but it is in decent shape most of the way (positive again, see).
The Falls trail just plain sucks. Ain`t got nuttin positive to say there. Stay outta there…the gates are closed.
Well…….there ya go. I might not get on here for a couple-few days unless something really changes, so take this report as is for now.

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Halfway Lake Cottages, LLC >> When they closed the doctors offices last night because of conditions then we woke to about 6 inches of snow on top of ice, Chris decided to stay home. He spent 5 hours plowing then we went for a ride. We took 9 to Pine Stump and back and it was an amazing ride minus the sleeping child riding with me! We passed the groomer on the way there and on the way back! The picture of our backs is actually from the TASA page! Hey - it’s a family picture! 😂 #newberry #snowphotos
Oh how I miss seeing Tara and Stephen gilsdorf
You may have been one of the few groups I saw today. Pretty sure I saw you on 9 today. My favorite trail in Michigan but it has taken 5 of my helmets peaks this winter. I plan on doing some brushing this summer on 9.

we rode 9 saturday and sunday it was perfect, almost doesnt need groomed , 433 and 431 were in need and 440 needs closed down all together, most everything else could use it but not bad
