PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders – 12/21

12/21/24
5 degrees this morning…..YAY!!!!! I got a fresh inch of snow on my deck from last night too….YAY again!!! First day of winter….YAY for the 3rd time!!!!

We are off to a good start as far as snow goes, better than most years. The temps are supposed to behave for the next few days but it looks like a warm up is coming for after Christmas and into the new year. Lets hope it doesn`t get too crazy or maybe even changes.

Groomer Keith did run the Pine Stump trail #8 yesterday and told me it turned out pretty good. He did say there are some bare spots but all in all rated it as good. Thats all we ran yesterday, not sure what the plan is for today.

I`m taking off for down state for a few days to be with family for Christmas so this will be my last report till the 26th.

Merry Christmas to all and LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and not get too warm
Groomer Chris

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via Midwest Weather >> ~(Updated) Snowfall Forecast Sunrise Sunday-Sunrise Tuesday~
A major winter storm is expected to bring significant snowfall to portions of the region. Most of the accumulating snow will be along and north of I-80. No matter how much snow will fall, there will be strong northwest winds that will create blowing and drifting snow. Travel north of I-80 will be near impossible at times. Some road closures are possible along and north of I-90 given greater accumulation and more persistent blizzard-like conditions. Heaviest snowfall totals through sunrise Tuesday (there will be more after) will be along Lake Superior. Snowfall rates could exceed 2" an hour at times due to lake enhancement. Expect over a foot in most areas along the lakeshore before dropping as you get closer to the WI border. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey~OUTDATED~

Paradise Area Trail Report – 12/20

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders – 12/20

12/20/24
19 degrees this morning with a light snow. We picked up about an inch last night and about 4-5 inches Wed. night. The weather is supposed to be cold the next few days then warm up for a few starting next week. Here`s what went on yesterday…….

We took 2 machines without drags and 4 guys and headed down trail #45 to the Falls, mainly to clear trees and check out the water situation. There were quite a few small trees down but nothing too big but the water levels were as we expected……DEEP. Got one groomer buried in a deep mud hole but was able to pull her out with the other machine. We did make our goal to the upper falls. The trail is 90% ridable but the 10% that is not is UGLY. Therefore, we left the gates shut, don`t go around them, you WILL be sorry.

Today, groomer Keith is gonna take a run to Pine Stump on trail #8.

Thats all I got fer today
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Groomer Chris
