Paradise Area Trail Report – 12/30

Good Morning …Its MONDAY…the last Monday of the year… and a very cold Morning…. Paradise is blessed now with a ABOVE Zero temp (10:30am) a balmy +9 above zero…
Our Local meteoroligist Jim Lehocky has some very accurate Local temps below..

Trail Report….All trails are back to a EXCELLENT rating….snowed about 3 inches last night and is still snowing ..forecast for another 3 inches today….
Trails where packed in our recent +30 degree weather making for a hard base with fresh snow overlying…….

Lots of visitors pulling trailer loads of snow machines seen on M-123….into Paradise
Gas stations have waiting lines for gas….
Restaurants have lots of snow machines in parking lots… great for the economy ..

averaging about 50 snowmobiles a hour on most trails …from noon till dark…. just a rough estimate …but accurate… We will be grooming later in evening to get trails packed /frozen hard and avoid traffic…to make for a better trail for the next days riders…

Paradise Area Trail Report – 12/28

GOOD Morning …Its Saturday..Dec 28th, 2013….. temps hovering in the upper 20s to 30s today …
Friday was our first BUSY,,,Busy …lots of riders type of day…
counted over 200 riders on Trail #45 and part of Trail #8 into paradise and town trail included…in a 8hr grooming drive…

Trail REPORT……
all trails are now groomed thru wetland areas and
ALL trails are in a good–average range….some brown showing on some corners..
Heavy trail usage is blowing out corners and hills….limiting trails to a good range..
Zero temps are hard to pack…our warm up today should help packing trails….
2:00pm thru 7:00pm is our heaviest trail usage…nicest riding is in Mornings.

ALL groomers will be out for next 3 days
NO GROOMing —- NEW years eve and New Years Day—-… will be a day of rest for groomers and due to heavy trail traffic……

Lower Tahquameonon Falls access is now groomed …
Please stay on Snow trail … ….half of road is plowed for DNR access only…STAy on Snow TRAIl….

There are 6 State HIghway..road crossings in our trail system
PLEASE …DO NOT power (rooster tail) snow onto road surfaces when crossing…..it is a traffic hazard to motor vehicle traffic …we have been getting complaints….

Last but not least…
15 MPH speed limit thru town….and it is enforced…!!!!
