Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 01/10

January 10, 2017

28 degrees this morning, the wind is blowing kinda hard and a light snow fall. It is supposed to get mid 30`s today and then cool down again. I see down below ya`ll are supposed to get rain today. It is supposed to miss us….yea… and actually be snow here. ‘They’ are calling for 3-6 inches for us.

I groomed the Falls trail last night and it turned out perfect!!! I am even gonna call it excellent!!!! I maybe saw a dozen sleds last night and the last 6 hrs. I didn`t see a single one. On the return trip from the Falls there was one lonely sled track on the fresh groom. Somebody is gonna have an awesome ride this morning!!! We are running the Pine Stump trail and the Point trails today…hopefully I`ll hear from those boys so I can let ya`ll know how that went.

Our problem groomer is still down but we are making progress…I think. As soon as we get her runnin we`ll concentrate on the south swamp. This is the only problem trail we have left. All for today, keep checking back. LET ER SNOW Groomer Chris

Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 01/09

January 9, 2017

14 degrees this morning and cloudy. We haven`t seen the sun in more than a week. Which is good I suppose, but I could use a sunny day. Looks like we picked up another 3-4 inches last night too. Just in case you are wondering we have a solid 3 feet on the ground and ‘they’ are calling for around 6 inches more in the next couple days!!! Now…..on to the trails…

The boys haven`t been doing a good job of letting me know how their runs went….just a simple text or quick call will do boys….but I know we are in good shape. I ran the Falls trail #45 Saturday night and it turned out in pretty good shape. I DID NOT break through any water holes but there are a couple of soft spots and a couple of bumpy spots from the ground heave in the low lands from freezing. The Point trails #452 and 453 are good and the Pine Stump trail #8 is good but alot of drifting problems on this trail around the old burned area. I know all this from talking with some of the snowmobilers. Trail #8 south through our swamp is still not passable but is getting close…the gates are still closed in there.

We still have that darn groomer down…it is causing us FITS!!! Just can`t figure it out. We have replaced the lift pump, the injector pump and all the injectors and it still won`t fire. We are leaning towards an electrical problem now, maybe the brain fried, I know ours are!!! Any good diesel mechanics out there that can come UP??

This coming weekend is a holiday weekend. You won`t be disappointed if you come UP…plenty of snow and the trails are good. If we can get this other groomer running we`ll be in great shape….if not….we’ll still be good to go. We just need it going to get into the south swamp more. All I got today, keep checking back. LET ER SNOW Groomer Chris
