Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 11/13

November 13, 2019

Thought I would jump on here for a hot second cause I know you crazy sled heads are trolling the internet for snow reports LOL.

Right now at my place it is 25 degrees and snowing sideways with a 25-30 mph wind howling right off the Bay! We have about 3 feet…..yes 3 feet….of snow on the ground! A tad early for this much snow in my book…sorry sled heads LOL. The weather guessers are calling for it to warm up to the upper 30`s and lower 40`s for next week though.

I do want to remind you that the trails don`t officially open up till Dec. 1st. You cannot ride on state land trails till then. This means like the trail to the Falls or any gated off trail. You can ride public land trails, but during the firearms deer season you can only ride between 11am-2pm or after dark….this is the LAW!

Another thing I want you to be aware of if you decide to come UP is the water on the trails below the snow. There is a TON of it!!!! We had a real wet fall and we ran across water holes in spots we have never had water before when we were out brushing this fall. So don`t come crying to me if you get yourself stuck in a huge puddle….er lake.

We cannot get our groomers out till the 1st. My best advise is to chill until we can get out and start freezing things in. It may take us a little longer to do that cause of all the water and it all depends what Mother Nature throws at us. I will throw the green flag UP when we think its safe.

Till then…….keep thinking snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paradise Area Trail Report – 04/02

April 2, 2019

Time for the last report of the season. It sure was a good season wasn`t it. Albeit a fast one though!! The weather really cooperated as did the machines. We never really had a solid thaw or major break down.

There still is alot of snow in the woods but the trails are officially closed. You cannot ride on any state land trails like the Falls trail but you could still get some miles in on side trails and the unplowed roads like around the Point.

I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Brandon Krupski, new owner of the Silver Creek Bar for taking care of us groomer drivers this year. I hope he realizes how much we appreciate him for feeding us….for free…when we are out grooming for 8+ hours!!!! Also to Lark Ludlow, owner of the Falls brewery for doing the same. THANK YOU!!!!!!! From all of us!!!!!

This spring our club WILL get organized and we WILL get a membership going. We WILL organize some brushing parties and a few other things. We finally have some shirts and hats in to order. They look pretty cool. Check them out on our FB page.

OK, with a sad face, I will say……till next season!!!!! Hope you all have a great summer. Check back every now and again and we`ll post updates on fall brushing. We could use the help!!!
