Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 12/11

Temp 4 degrees this morning with no new snow yet from the big lake effect event. The wind is supposed to turn more NW and it is only out of the West right now. Had the groomer our packing in the city yesterday, finding water and some new trees down. We will be putting other groomers out today and the rest of the week as the snow hits us to get it packed down and keep it from insulating the water holes.

Snow right now is still hardly enough deep enough, we are counting on getting some of this 6-10 inches they are projecting between now and Thursday morning. Gates will be opened as we groom and if you were out for a ride will not have to ride around them. Water is very bad in spots on Soo to Kinross trail and Kinross to Raco. We may turn the groomer around at each end of the wet spots because our weight will break ice that supports your sled.
