The trails saw heavy traffic over the weekend and are currently in fair condition. Some areas may be thin, with patches of dirt showing. With strong winds gusting today, watch for drifting and tree debris.

As always, please be aware of your surroundings and ride safely. Enjoy the trails!

Check out this live feed to see trail #7, just north of Gaylord.

A few things to remember about our groomers and trails:

– Groomers are out there to help you have a better riding experience and always have the right of way.
– Please move off the trail when groomers are approaching and allow them to safely pass.
– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night, so stay alert.
– Always ride on the right side of the trail.
– Ride safe and ride sober.

Sledheads of Frederic – 01/27

It’s a windy monday morning. Sunny and a cold 27 degrees. Mackinaw bridge is closed today to traffic due to wind. I decided to close on sunday and go riding. Went with 4 friends and we had a fantastic 50 mile all day ride. We found lots of untouched snow which really surprised me how much there was with many 12 to 18 inch spots. I had a slow speed fall off my sled incident where I was turning hard left and a stump hidden under the snow got my ski just right and rolled me off to the side. The snow was deep so there was no weight on me till the guys got the machine off me. That was the only incident of the day. Lunch at the Settings and back towards Waters and then Frederic. A Great day of riding but I am staying put today. Saturday had alot of riders here in town but still the snow is much better north and west of Frederic. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Sledheads of Frederic – 01/25

It’s a quiet saturday morning here in downtown frederic. No new snow overnight and most everybody is still going west and north. Grayling motels pretty much empty with only 5 trailers at Days Inn and 6 at Ramada. Finally this year OSSA (Ohio State Snowmobile Association) got there annual ride in based out of Gaylord. They have missed the past few years because of the snow. Several of them have stopped in here and they are happy to be riding. Still perfect riding temp out there. Thanks for checking in and Please ride Safely.as I have heard about 7 fatal sled crashes so far this season.
