Gaylord Area Trail Report – 01/04

We had an epic start to snowmobile season – the Gaylord area got hit with over 90 inches of snow to start out winter!
We’re under a winter weather advisory and could potentially see 12″ of snow over the next 24 hours. Trails are being groomed today and are in fair shape. Check out this live feed to see trail #7, just north of Gaylord.
A few things to remember about groomers:
– Groomers are out there to help you have a better riding experience and always have the right of way.
– Please move off the trail when groomers are coming and allow them to safely pass.
– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night.
– Have fun and stay safe!

Lets load up and go to Indianapolis as it looks like all the snow is going to be south of I 70. We have only had another couple inches of lake effect snow since yesterday. I still feel like your skis are right thru the little bit we have and carbides are right thru to the gravel. Sleds are out and about riding and I heard the parking lot on 612 is full and I have 2 trucks out back so far this morning. I saw sleds running thru Grayling first thing this morning and the most I saw at the Swamp yesterday was about 20. At least its nice and white out. Here are a few pics. Thanks for checking in. Pete

-Some areas could see 9-12"+ in Antrim, Otsego, Crawford & Kalkaska Counties. Same for areas of Luce & Chippewa Counties. Winds could be gusting upwards of 40mph blowing and drifting the fresh snow.
