KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Krupps Resort – Good morning Kruppers!
Well we survived the warm up without much damage to our snowpack!
We had a a tiny bit of rain but nothing to worry about!
The warm up helped make the base better and then came back the cold!
It snowed and blowed yesterday and here in Kruppys back yard I would say we picked up about 4” new!
It just 4 above out now!
I rode trail 3 last night and it had 2 foot whoops so not fun and then I passed Dave Sleeman in the groomer heading north from Twin Lakes to Toivola and it was awesome for the LAST MILE!”dang it”!
So far today the traffic seems light around Here in Twin Lakes!
It’s the weekend now so I would say get out early!
We need another foot or two now to make off trail riding MINT!
Let it Snow!
Have a great weekend

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 01/07

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Krupps Resort – Good morning Kruppers
More measurable snows just keep adding up in the new year-
Seems like we just keep getting about 4” everyday and then a 7-8” day here and there!
We are at 150+ inches so far for the season!
Over 130” since Dec 5th!
Looks like this pattern is going to continue for now!
Surprisingly the big lake isn’t freezing over much with all this COLD temps we have been having!
The problem with this cold the snow isn’t settling down to give us a good base!
Snow is plenty deep but the stumps and rocks are still hiding under there ready to take out an A arm or bumper or worse so be careful!
It sounds like it might warm up a bit so let’s hope for that so it can pack to a good solid base and then it can pile up on top!
Trails pretty good with things froze up nicely and the holiday week over it helps with the traffic which means smoother trails!
I’m sure it will get bumpy by Saturday afternoon like most weekends due to SO much traffic on the weekends!
