KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 3/25
To say it was an absolutely beautiful day in the Keweenaw, would be an understatement! Today appears to be the same, but with even better trail conditions! Groomer operators were able to get out last night when the temps dropped! Download the Groomer Tracker app to see updated information on grooming operations.
Jojo Belanger has been up riding Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula for the last week. She had originally planned to go home prior to the storm that dumped 16 inches of fresh snow….. but decided not to miss out on riding those epic conditions. Then yesterday the Mac Bridge was closed so she couldn’t leave and now the same today! Jojo rode from Dollar Bay to Copper Harbor yesterday and shared these beautiful photos!
Thanks for sharing Jojo and glad you are enjoying your “extended stay”. There is no where that I personally would rather be “stuck” than the Keweenaw!
I have talked to quite a few groups that were waiting to cross the Mackinac Bridge yesterday and finally made it over last night! Unfortunately some are going to be stuck on the other side again today, as it closed again this morning. Headed out to start the clean up after the last storm. I spent 4 hours to go less than 2 miles of trail brushing. Lots if down branches and trees on the trail. Hope to get out late tonight or maybe early morning to start back grooming again. It’s pretty warm again today and the trails are still soft but surprisingly in good shape.

It’s really hard to say the “official 2025/26” snowmobile season has ended….. so we will only say grooming operations have ended and gates on trails crossing private land will be locked as of 4/1/26.
With the upcoming forecast ❄️🩵 and trails still being in excellent 🤩 condition, it should be noted for those that still want to ride… You CAN!

Well most trails close after today, Trail 3 is open all year and there’s plenty of snow left in these parts
It’s kinda sad dayfor trail riders especially since reports from Toivola north trails are reporting excellent conditions and a snowstorm in the forecast!
But gates will be locked up till next season
Personally right now starts my favorite rides of the year
Warm temps(sometimes tee shirt weather) but the beauty of the creeks and waterfalls are gorgeous!
I’m sure I’ll be sharing pictures for another month and will post here so y’all can ride vicariously through me!
It’s been a great winter
I’m pretty sure this will be my last season of riding with my battle with ALS
My body is giving up on me but not my spirit so stay tuned, ya never know

By tomorrow, the wintry precipitation will become more confined to the north, while showers and thunderstorms sneak into the southern counties. A few of these storms could even become strong at times with large hail.
