WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Patchy dense fog is possible early this morning across the west and central U.P. and then again tonight. Warmer than normal temperatures continue through the week. Highs in the upper 30s to low 50s today, coldest north underneath cloudy skies and warmer south under sunny skies. Lows near or just above freezing late in the week. I just got back from inspecting 3/13. Roughly 18 bare spots this evening compared to the two that were there when I went out around noon. Most of the bare spots are 3-4' in diameter however there is about a 16' long bare spot on the 90 degree turn/hill by 3. Significant portions of the trails are pretty slushy and the snow is real loose on the majority of the trails. Thankfully 13 is still in decent shape however the stretch of 3 from aspen lane to the 3/12 intersection is full of small 6" or so moguls.
I'm gonna hold off on grooming because the snow is so wet I don't think I'll be able to get it to flow out the drag and it's not gonna get cold enough to firm up the snow.
