The warm spell was not hitting us too hard, UNTIL, rain came last weekend. that knocked out a lot of snow real quick.. Good that its back cold and snowing again. There were many places of dirt last weekend, as usual on the busy areas and corners. Yesterady bought 1-3" with only 1" or so overnight last night. Snow in the forecast everyday this week, we’ll have to see how much we get. My guess is by this weekend there will be a thin layer of hard ice and snow in the bad areas and reasonable snow in the good areas. Still good snow in the woods off the trails. COLD, COLD ,COLD……..!!Cheers Brett

The trails have held up surprisingly well considering the warm temps we gave had. Some locals stopped in on Friday and said were best they’ve seen in some time. Of course that wont last long if it hits 38degs today as forecast. There is not doubt we need more snow, in the woods of the groomed trail there is still a good 1 1/2 to 3ft in many places. I have been told by several riders that Traverse City has better snow than many places in the UP and further North.. Groomer will stop grooming here for a bit as temps stay warm. If you see a groomer on the trail give them a big THANK YOU as they are all volunteers and want to be appreciated.. We still are sending sleds out this weekend at Snowblitz and as long as we get snow that’s in the forecast next week will be in good shape going foreword. make sure you stop at all stop signs.
