Benzie Area Trail Report – Benzie Bureau – 01/12

Benzie-Manistee Snowmobile Club – 01/12

We had many riders over the weekend trails took a toll south end poor, north end fair. Groomed reports: #1 south groomed from High Bridge to Crystal mountain. Middle #2 groomed Bear Lake spur thru Thompsonville both done Saturday. North #3 groomed Monday Empire to Maple City. Trail conditions: The trail is poor to fair, beaten, lots of snirt, rough, no base but somewhat ride-able better at the north end. We have gotten snow in places, not through-out , it was predicted for lake effect flurries for weekend. Weather forecast: We got a dusting yesterday 1/2 in. Possibly snow flurries today thru Thursday night they are calling for lake effect flurries at night with single digits temps, daytime in high 20’s with light winds. Things may change on Friday they say we’ll wait to see how winds move. All grooming has stopped till we receive more snow. Sing and dance to the skies snow machine to let it snow. Thank you for your help!!

Ride-able but rough and better north than south. Hey, by the way! when you are out and about and in the area, plan on swinging in to the Snowbirds clubhouse on Saturdays in Jan & Feb! Every Saturday 10am -4pm. is Open House day at the Club! Everyone is welcome to stop by to warmup and visit! Please, do me a favor…to keep ALL parts of the trails open for us, STAY ON THE TRAIL! This means YOU! Its not just a given that we get every inch of trail for our fun. We gotta stay on track at all times! By the way, those groomers are out there volunteering their time and energy to us, so if ya see one, get outta their way and give them a thumbs up as they go by!
