Newberry Trail Report – 01/23

Snow showers expected this week and cold temps.

Trail #9 is reported in Excellent condition, about 10″ in town and more as you go North. Joe groomed yesterday afternoon and saw about 180 sleds. On the return trip Todd only saw 25 sleds and the trail has had time to set up nicely. There is a LOT of snow out toward Pine Stump.

Trail #45 is plowed from Skyline Road to the north 3 miles for logging. This area is very icy with large dips please be careful. The trail is in Excellent condition other than that. Lou said we can now measure the snow in feet instead of inches.

Trail #9/2 to Epoufette/ Trout Lake is in very good condition, as they did get about 8′ of snow. The spur to Trout Lake is being groomed today.

Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 01/23

The very cold temps have the trails in excellent condition. They are beautiful. The groomer has kept them flat and smooth. The cold keeps them that way. Very few riders were out yesterday on the trails.

Our riders all returned very pleased with their days ride. If there is any way possible you can come up during the week I would encourage you to do so. This weekend there are going to be alot more riders on the trails. I know this because we have been booked since Monday, and many other hotels are as well.

The weather forecast continues to show cold and snow every day. Even an inch a day just keeps it all looking so fresh and pristine. It did show where we’ll be getting out of the bitter cold to a more reasonable winter time temp. 20’s and low 30 by end of the week. This morning it was 1 degree at 7 am.
