Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/29

Super Saturday, and sunny and 32 degrees, been super busy since I got here and town is packed with sleds, same way it was yesterday but it was snowing and blowing so hard I couldnt beleive it. Snows and winds have subsided but this might be it. I dont like the weather forcast for next week so we will have to see what happens….right now all the sleds that are out there have to enjoy what we do have.

PIcs below are from yesterday, I couldnt believe how many sleds were around the front and sides and back of the Frederic Inn……So just gonna get this on while I can….

Thanks for checking in and Think Snow…..Pete

Grand Marais Trail Report – 02/29

GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 2/29

From Jack & Elmer-We groomed the north Trail last night. Double groomed some stretches. Heavy traffic so the trail was getting no time to set up. Mike and I double groomed to town at the end of our run…

From Michael-The west trail had lots of drifting on it. Be careful along the lake shore lots of drifting. And high winds still. Lots and lots of cutting but there was lots of traffic so it doesn’t look like I did much out there.

From Ted-Tr. 443/88 , corners were as usual , moguled up , didn’t see one sledder tonight ? Good trails… Trails 443/88 showed heavy traffic , groomed up well , ready for Sat !

From Phil-Friday did 8 East: I got 16 miles out and had issues so I had to return to the groomer barn for some repairs. So… after the repair, I only went 2 miles past the pine stump parking lot. So the drifts in the recent logged area did get busted thru. 8 East is in decent shape… Smooth, flat corners… however there is some inside corner moguls throughout. Lots of groups out riding tonight… 8 East is All set for Saturday.
