FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 02/03
I love the cold. A nice cold zero degrees out when I left home this morning. We had maybe another inch and a half, 2 inches if you stretch it yesterday. The cold is holding the trails for now at least till it warms up again and maybe rains on Monday. I think this will be a decent day of riding as groomers are out and about, but keep in mind there is still maybe only 6 compacted inches on the trails themselves. Traffic was hit and miss yesterday but riders stil lhaving a decent ride. Kind of the same old thing. Pics below are from yesterday and look in the background to see the train passing thru as riders were leaving. A rider stopped in yesterday and told me I pushed motivated him to finally getting knee surgery and that he was so glad he did. I had mine on Nov 17 and he had it on the 14th……He said he feels 30 years younger and is getting his other knee done in march….I am still healing and have some pain and I think last years knee went better. Hopefully I will ease up on the discomfor soon……..I put it off way to long too like Mark did but am glad its done now. So now I can get out there and do the snow dance…….Thanks for checking in. Pete

JORDAN VALLEY AREA UPDATE via Jordan Valley Trails Council >> Hats off to Mike, Rich and Pete for spending two cold days fixing a minor issue found on the track of the Pisten Bully! These guys have been on the recovery and fix of the blown track and this latest fix this year and we couldn’t do it without them! Hopefully our machine issues are behind us for the year! Our Milwaukee Tool are a key part of program. From our impacts, grease guns and chainsaws in the cab of our units, these tools make our volunteers lives easier! Hopefully next year we’ll have a building in Alba to get out of the weather. Go check out the go fund me or visit the Antrim County Snowmobile Club and help us make this happen! gofund.me/a9c1cde53 Our groomers were out all weekend making up for the down machine. Thank you to our volunteers for adjusting their schedules! Trails have come back around since we’ve received some fresh snow to mix in with the crusty snow left from the meld down. Looks like we may receive another foot by next weekend which will help build back up the trail. This week will be frigid so we will adjust grooming as needed for snowfall and temps. Make sure you check out Groomer Tracker for all our grooming! 🚧Trail 4 near the Pinney Bridge there was a car in the trail today, please use caution as the trail maybe rutted from the vehicle or recovery effort🚧 #jordanvalley#gaylord#petoskey#snowphotos... CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort – 1/31
Pete’s latest Trail Report: Hello- Rode about 70 miles today… Went to Thompsonville and ate at Geno’s. Trails were mostly Good, with some Bumps between Boon and Mesick and good trails north of Mesick, until things get thin around Copemish.
Being told things are real good in Irons, but thin and rough around Wellston. We are not grooming every shift, as still need more snow. Good, hard base is really helping make things quite decent, with little to no snirt and not overheating! COLD temps here now, with single digits and cold winds. THINK SNOW! Pete
