Grayling Trail Report – Fay’s Motel – 01/18

Greetings Idled Sledders,

Well now, things panned out as predicted. Lots of Sun, temps that would put one on the brink of considering Sun bathing during the late afternoon hours followed by an emergency phone call to the local Spam distributor for food. Things could be worse and we aren’t crying in our respective beers as we are acutely aware of the issues going on around the world with No. 1 our troops that are sacrificing time away from native grounds and family and the many sacrifices that they make including the ultimate one and of course the people of Haiti and other places that need desperate help. Things could be a lot more tuurible (Sir Charles) for us than they are.

THAT SAID LET’S GET ON WITH IT:

GROOMING:
Not a chance until we get some significant snows.

TRAILS:
The only riding that we can offer up right now is off trail. The snirtty stuff is now even snirttier but thinner than before. Pretty ugly overall.

WEATHER:
Nothing glowing in this category until maybe the first of next week. Temps are to stay around the freezing mark but the real kicker is more Sun mid-week.

I believe that it’s time for the infamous co-ed naked snow dance, ugly due to our age, which is why we perform this traditional affair behind the fence in the backyard.

If you do catch a ride,
Ride Often and Please Be Safe,
Keith, Sandy and The Girls

At Fay’s Motel enjoy direct access to the Grayling Area snowmobile trails.

Newberry Trail Report – Halfway Lake Resort – 01/18

Talked with some sledders this afternoon. They said trails in our surrounding area are in good shape. They went to Grand Marais and back enjoying their ride.

It’s been snowing on and off all day, no accumulation, snow and not rain is a good thing. Looks like the temps are cooling back down at least until the weekend.

There’s still time to make a reservation for the weekend.
