Ishpeming Area Trail Report – Country Village Resort – 02/02

Snowmobile Report:

Date: 02/02/12

Trails–In very good shape with some worn areas.
We have gotten some warm weather over the last few days but the trails are holding up pretty well. The biggest issue would be on Trail 8 going east as it has been pretty well used the last few days and is rough in a few area. Otherwise the trails are in solid good to very good shape in the area. Groomers are doing a good job of keeping up the trails in nice riding shape.

Weather: mild temperatures are expected for the next few days with it cooling off early next week. Light snow accumulations expected throughout next week as well.

Snowcover: Snow Cover on Ground in Ishpeming: 16++

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 02/02

The snowmobile trails, with the exception of Trail 133 which is poor to fair and some intown areas which are sugary, are still in very good condition. Going to be some really, really heavy traffic this weekend (there is already) and it’s going to be rather warm and sunny, so that may change. Get out early if you’re planning to ride. Groomers will be out over the weekend as usual. (via Facebook – 2/2)

This is the Keweenaw trail system report for Thursday, February 2, 2012.

The snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and groomers are out working on them. Trails are in very good condition except for some intown areas and Trail 133 which is poor to fair. Remember to watch out for the groomers when you’re out on the trails….they have the right of way!!! Please watch out for deer on the trails too.

Please be aware that if you snowmobile on U.S. Coast Guard property you could face federal trespass charges.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, please, drive safely. The signs on the snowmobile trails are there for the riders’ safety. Please, DO NOT remove or destroy these signs.
