Grayling Trail Report – Fay’s Motel – 12/21

Greetings Sledders,

We’ve had many sledders in since we started panning and grooming last Thursday with no complaints lodged at least with regard to our efforts and trails. I think the trails have held together pretty well given the traffic and the type and amount of snow we’ve been given to work with. Lake Effect has never been conducive to base building but I’m not complaining, everything that’s on the ground so far is a bonus.

Because of the lack of base I’m rating our trails as fair. You may get on a stretch that might go for miles and be as white as, well, snow, but the base is missing or just starting to take hold and I consider that to be fair. And of course you may also experience a stretch that’s snirty and that too is fair at best. It’s an early season start, but it’s a start nonetheless.

We’re not quite sure what to expect weather wise after the weekend and into Monday. We know at this point that some rain may fall, how much is anyone’s guess.

If we get some light rain it would be a good thing for the base as long as the rain and next week’s increase in traffic don’t happen at the same time.

I’ll get out another report as weather warrants, probably Sunday evening sometime.

Have a Great Holiday.
Ride Often and Please Be Safe,
Keith, Sandy and The Girls

Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 12/21

December 21, 2016

34 degrees this morning and cloudy. Sorry I haven`t posted in a couple days but I have been busier then a one legged man in a butt kicking contest!

The weather has turned kinda crappy for us. I don`t think it got below freezing last night and the next few days looks to be about the same. This does not bode well for us gettin into the swamps. We have to suspend that idea for now. So the south trail and the Falls trail remain closed. Groomer Dave M. and I did the Point trail yesterday and it is good to go!!! Groomer Loren did the Pine Stump trail too and it is good. We also set the town trail but you can`t get anywhere south, but it is good to go, just in case you stay in the middle of town somewhere.

We figured out the broken groomer….its the fuel injector pump….and are waiting on parts for that. With this warm weather it gives us a break to get that fixed.

Thats about all I got fer ya. Like I said…we need Ole Man Winter to kick it again!!!!! LET ER SNOW!!!!! and get cold Groomer Chris
