After 18 below Sunday morning this mornings temp is around 15 above and about 2 inches of fresh snow that is suppose to end mid morning.
The last few days of zero or below mornings have really helped to set up the water.
We will be taking groomer thru the Spile dam(#480) trail all the way to Raco for only the second time this season. That only leaves about 3 miles north of Gaines highway on trail #49 to put groomer on.
Other then these two short sections, which sleds can get around, trails are in very good shape.
Step off the trail in Raco and you are waist deep in snow.

14 degrees this morning and cloudy. We haven`t seen the sun in more than a week. Which is good I suppose, but I could use a sunny day. Looks like we picked up another 3-4 inches last night too. Just in case you are wondering we have a solid 3 feet on the ground and ‘they’ are calling for around 6 inches more in the next couple days!!! Now…..on to the trails…
The boys haven`t been doing a good job of letting me know how their runs went….just a simple text or quick call will do boys….but I know we are in good shape. I ran the Falls trail #45 Saturday night and it turned out in pretty good shape. I DID NOT break through any water holes but there are a couple of soft spots and a couple of bumpy spots from the ground heave in the low lands from freezing. The Point trails #452 and 453 are good and the Pine Stump trail #8 is good but alot of drifting problems on this trail around the old burned area. I know all this from talking with some of the snowmobilers. Trail #8 south through our swamp is still not passable but is getting close…the gates are still closed in there.
We still have that darn groomer down…it is causing us FITS!!! Just can`t figure it out. We have replaced the lift pump, the injector pump and all the injectors and it still won`t fire. We are leaning towards an electrical problem now, maybe the brain fried, I know ours are!!! Any good diesel mechanics out there that can come UP??
This coming weekend is a holiday weekend. You won`t be disappointed if you come UP…plenty of snow and the trails are good. If we can get this other groomer running we`ll be in great shape….if not….we’ll still be good to go. We just need it going to get into the south swamp more. All I got today, keep checking back. LET ER SNOW Groomer Chris
