Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/22

Foggy and 45 this morning in Frederic, snow continues to try to totally disappear.

Up to 53 yesterday and stil another couple warm days to come then finally back to below 32.

The Winter Festival that was scheduled for Gaylord this coming weekend has been canceled. I don’t believe there is any hope of rideable snow for this coming weekend but maybe a slim chance for the following weekend.

If it happens at all we will be starting over from scratch. With the ground warmed up everything that falls at first will want to melt.

I posted a picture yesterday of a set of keys that were found on the trail north of town here and that got passed around a lot and I am happy to say that the owner of the keys called me last night and wouldn’t you know it, another Indiana person from Fort Wayne. That of course instantly made me think of the coney island in Fort Wayne. Regardless I am glad that Trent can get his keys back. Pictures below are from this morning and are just plain depressing except for the deer pics I took at my camp and a picture I am throwing in that my daughter took down at the lake a couple weeks ago. The only other good thing about this warm out is that the death count this season is only at 4 when it was at 20 at this same time last year. Thanks for checking in. Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 02/22

February 22, 2017

36 degrees this morning and sunny. Got into the mid 40`s yesterday and the sun was out. Supposed to get into the mid 40`s today too. Just so you know, we still have a couple foot of snow on the ground. Our trails are still ridable its just the parking lots and roads are bare and dry. Looking at all the weather reports and stuff on the computer, it looks like the weather is gonna turn around Thursday night. ‘They’ are calling for snow after then and alot cooler temps….maybe 3-6 inches….we`ll have to wait an see.

The only trail that was run yesterday was the Point trails #452 and #453. They turned out good with just a few thin spots. We stayed off the rest cause they are flat and the sled traffic was almost nill. Just seen a few sleds in town yesterday. Soooo…with our trails flat, and alittle snow a coming we might be good to go for the weekend. Things won`t be perfect, it will be more like the end of March riding. I`ll betcha you`ll have a blast if you decide to come UP this weekend. Probably not much traffic and our trails will be flat. Bout all I gots fer ya`s today, keeping a close eye on the weather. Groomer Chris
