Newberry Trail Report – Visit Newberry – 02/16

February 16, 2010 8:00am

We had about 1 inch of snow overnight with a possible inch more today.

Please be careful around corners there is ice under the snow in the curves.

Trail #9 north is in good condition. The base is 8-10 inches and groomers are reporting fair to good conditions. Be carful on the straight away between M-123 and 3 mile staging area, mogals form there quick depending on how many sleds go over it. There are some bare spots close to town. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE IS LOGGING ON THE TRAIL ABOUT 8 MILES NORTH, SO WATCH FOR LOGGING TRUCKS

Trail #45 North is in good condition with a 8-10 inch base, but, there are 2 logging areas on it. One north, and one south, of the Skyline Trail Head. It is plowed and can be rough at times. The trail from Co. Rd. 500 to the Falls is in good shape.

Trail #9 south to Hemlock Ridge road (trail 2) has up to a 4 inch base and is in fair condition.

Trail #2 From the Naubinway split to Rexton is in fair condition with up to a 3 inch base.

Trail #473 has about 7 miles of plowed road from Rexton south to Epoufette due to logging in the area. Please watch for trucks and deer in the area. The base is marginal to 3 inches and in fair condition.

Trail #473 Rexton to Trout lake is in good condition with up to a 3 inch base.

Town trails are open and in good condition with a 2-4 inch base.

Halfway Lake Trails Report – 2/15
http://www.michiweb.com/halfwaylake

Good Afternoon,

The Kingshot’s from Sault Ste. Marie,Canada just left after a week here snowmobiling. They said "the trails are great, much better than home". They are already looking at coming back next year.

It’s still snowing and more on it’s way. Our snow gauge is reading 16" up a couple of inches since yesterday.

All four quests checking out were very happy with the north trails.
