Michigan Trail Report

Grayling Trail Report – Fay’s Motel – 12/26

Greetings Sledders,

Sorry for the delay but I wanted to see how the weather was going to pan out yesterday and today before going through this process.

Turns out we got light rain for most of the day and very little snow behind it.

Took a road trip this morning to check many of our crossings and found that the rain did help to tighten the trail up as the snow that we’ve been working was getting real sugary and hard to manage. That’s about the only good thing to say about that.

Right now we have frozen snirty stretches and I’m not sure what to say about the snirty corners except that they must have taken at least a minor hit and probably have some dirt showing which I guess would make them, are you ready for this, frosnirdirt. Not a good deal for the time being although I did see sleds out and about.

WEATHER:
They are still calling for a little snow over the next few days but you wouldn’t know by looking at the currently bright blue Sky.
We’ll just have to wait and see what Ma Nature has in store.

GROOMING:
The only grooming that will take place today and until we get more snow is fixing the Lovell’s trail straight away. It never fails anytime it rains some idiot has to take a truck down a segment of trail and rut it up something terrible. We are fixing this due to a safety issue.

Next report Monday evening.

Ride Often and Please Be Safe,
