Michigan Trail Report

Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/15

Woke up this morning to 24 degrees and a light dusting of snow and a light snow falling.

As you saw in my last post I ungraded the trails to excellent shape. They remain that way…..I groomed last night….I know. So not much to write about on the trails, so lets move on to some other subjects.

Subject #1- this weekend is a holiday weekend, so the traffic is gonna be heavy. We have 3 machines and just a hand full of VOLUNTEERS ( see the list below ) driving these machines. We do the best we can trying to keep up with the bumps.

Subject #2- People are starting to ride in the clear cuts and in the burn area east of Pine Stump. There are stumps out there and people are nailing them…..be careful. Although we have about 3 feet of snow on the ground, it isn`t deep or packed enough yet and they are sticking up enough to cause trouble. You get one of these babies and you will go over the bars!!!

Subject #3- The trail now runs through town only. Trail # 451 is closed that used to bypass town. It is not our fault…..we lost permission from some land owners to cross their private property. When riding through town SLOW DOWN. The speed limit is 15 mph. DO NOT roost over drive ways and jump banks. STOP at all stop signs. We have a school and EMS building in town. The DNR and police will be watching!!! Don`t complain to me if you get a ticket for being an idiot. The police will not harrass you if you are being cool…..easy.

Thats about all I got fer now. Be carefull out there this weekend. Remember, you are not the only ones on the trail. LET ER SNOW!!! Groomer Chris
