Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 12/18

17 degrees this morning with some light snow the last 2 days adding to our totals. We helped out Bay Mills grooming today as their groomer is down and we groomed their 18 miles this morning. Groomers are out daily on on different portions of our trails getting them into shape. Our trails need some more snow but they are rideable with open water on Kinross to Raco. The Soo to Kinross trail has some wet areas that are frozen for sleds but too wet for the groomer yet. We have groomed up to both sides of those wet spots.

1 -2 Inches of snow over night on all of our trails. Trails are in fair shape going west on trail #8. Gates are all open, most trails have been packed/groomed twice or 3 times. Some flowing water on the Spile Dam trail. There will be water in many of the wet areas until the snow gets packed and the frost gets driven into the ground, especially after a groomer goes thru.
