Michigan Trail Report

Indian River Trail Report – 01/23

Trails are open for business and are in very cood condition. We’ve gotten another 3-4′ of fresh snow since yesterday and it’s still coming down now. Visibility is not very good out there and we’re under another Lake Effect Snow Advisory until 11 tonight. We’re expected to get another 3-4′ of snow today and it could be more in select pockets. We may be in one of those pockets because it’s really been coming down since a few hours ago. It’s beautiful to look at and excellent for snowmobiling. However, if your mode of transportation is a car it’s not real pretty. Roads are packed with snow and are a mess. It’s been too cold for salt so we’ve got some sand out there. Shoulders of the road have plenty of snow and no sand so you can get from ‘A’ to ‘B’ with no wear on your skis/carbides. We only made it to about 4 degrees yesterday. Today we’re around 8 and that’s an indicator of the intense cloud cover over us. Sled traffic is picking up and snowmobilers are happy. It’s going to be another great day to ride our trail system and the groomers will run tonight. They’ll pack the base and these cold temps will freeze it in hard. Visibility is reduced because of snowfall and snow dust so ride smart. HAPPY TRAILS!
