Michigan Trail Report

Western U.P. Trail Report – Western U.P. Bureau – 01/16

Temperatures will be up and down the next six days. Mostly in the low 20’s with single digits Thursday, Sunday and Monday. Some lake effect snow Wednesday evening through Thursday. We will have to wait and see how much.

The Lake Gogebic groomers report: They have not had much snow to get the trails in shape. They rolled the trails earlier but with the lack of snow they are unable to go out. Expect icy corners and bare spots. Groomers are ready and waiting to go out.

The Watersmeet groomers have not gone out yet, they need more snow. There is very little to no base. They are biting at the bit to go out and groom.

All areas need more snow….keep in mind groomers can be out day or night so watch out for them and please pull over or slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by.

Please be careful on corners as you know several Michigan Trail signs have been discontinued. These signs are posted on our trail map. PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!
