Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 01/27

About an inch of snow overnight, but temps right around 30.

The groomers have been out on some of the trails and have found water. The trails going west of the Soo to Brimley, Raco and towards Paradise are in fair to good shape, only a few wet spots nothing major. The trails going south to Kinross and then up to Raco are another story, lots of water and very low snow. We strarted up these trails and we were breaking the ice and making a mess so we turned around. Trails vary from Poor to good depending on which route you take.
Trail #47 west of Raco to Strongs that is maintained by the Chippewa Snow Chasers is not being groomed right now do to a loss of land control, and is CLOSED from Flat Foot Rd to Salt Point Rd. They are working franticly on a reroute to go around.
