Cadillac Area Trail Report – 12/31

New Years Eve 2011

Snow accumulation: 3 inches*

We’re beginning to think winter has arrived here in the northland. Last night we got 2 inches of fresh snow and our first major snow storm of the season is forecasted for tonight thru Monday with some areas getting up to a foot of snow.

Ride safely. Don’t let your excitment of finally getting on the trails interfere with your judgment. Let’s make this our safest riding season ever.

Attention area riders, there has been a lot of timber harvesting along our trails this fall. STAY ON THE TRAILS, those open areas have STUMPS in them!!!!! There is still one active sale on going on trail #37 between the Popular Creek Bridge and M-55. That sale will STOP when there is 6" of snow on the ground. North of Boon, the USFS performed a lot of road work this past summer which left quite a crown in the middle of the trail. Ride carefully, the sled is going to want to head for edge of the trail until we get enough snow packed down to level the trail.
