Watersmeet Trail Report – 02/14

Trails are in good shape at this time, we do have some warm temps in the forecast. We made it through the last warm up and we have a better base now so we should make it through. Use caution as wet spots may appear again

Trail 3 North to Bond Falls – Good
Trail 3 south to WI – Good
Trail 2 west of Watersmeet – Good – with a few thin areas
Trail 2 east of Watersmeet – Good – with some snirt right when you leave town
Trail #13 south – Good

Our trail system has numerous bridges and large bumps can form by these bridges in between groomings. For your safety please remember this when riding and be prepared to slow up and cross the bridges at a reasonable speed!

THINK SNOW!

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 02/14

KRUPP’S RESORT – 02/14

Good morning Kruppers!
Well the warm-up has begun but thankfully the humidity is staying low so far so it seems to be not melting our snowpack much!
It’s about 35* out now and being that it’s been dropping below freezing at night I think we might be ok!
It might cool off a bit soon with another warmup this weekend!
We are keeping a close eye on John Dees forecast!
Head over to Johndee.com and check out his forecast and check out his journal from Sunday! We got out for a ride with him out of the Scottishack on Friday and he shared some of our backwoods pics from the ride!
As long as it keeps getting below freezing at night Richard and the Superior Snowmobile Club will get out and groom at night keeping your trails looking like ribbons!
Have a great day!

Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau

This is the Keweenaw Snowmobile Trail System Report for Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and trails are in very good condition with a base ranging from 24-36 inches.

There is a groomer broken down on Trail #124 near Thayer’s Lake just out of Mohawk. The area is flagged but please use caution as there will be personnel out there working. We hope to have it moved as soon as possible.

Trail 122 is closed for logging. You can still access the Dreamland trail from Lake Linden but DO NOT go beyond. You can take Trail 124 to get to Gay.

Remember when you’re out on the trails to watch out for the groomers. They have the right away. Use caution around logging areas.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely. The signs on the trails are there for riders’ safety so please DO NOT remove or destroy them.
