Benzie Area Trail Report – 01/21

Trails are fairly flat but very thin. I’m not saying not-rideable because I’m going riding Thursday! However not good!
Dirt in spots and we need snow before I will send the groomers out. Without snow they will be dirt by Friday afternoon (warm temps).
Sorry for the bummer report!

Benzie Visitor Bureau – 01/21

Hi all and Happy Hump Day! I don’t have good news. Trails took a beating with the warm weekend and traffic. It’s looking rough and dirty out there. If you can stay in the back country and woods, you’ll find better riding. Good news is the colder air has moved back in so if the groomers can get out there they can try to fix what’s left but at this point unfortunately they will probably be parked until we get some more snow. There just isn’t enough to work with. We need more snow so do your dance, pray, or cross your fingers, whatever it takes! Remember the Benzie Manistee Snowbirds Clubhouse has an OPEN HOUSE every Saturday in January & February! Stop in at 14121 Industrial Drive in Kaleva. Fun conversation, free warm-up coffee or hot-coco & a snack provided by the club! OK! So till next time keep up the snow dance and I will SEEYA on the trails baby!

Sledheads of Frederic – 01/21

Same old thing, no new snow. I saw only a few sleds pass thru Frederic yesterday and had just one guy come in but what he said surprised me. He said the trail was not that bad and that the closer you got to Frederic the better it was. He had come from Grayling. I talked to Keith this morning about his take on the trails as he sees it from the groomer. I was beginning to think I am wrong about things but he said drawing a east west line along batterson road and north things are much better. 2/3 of the grayling trails are not good but that other third is pretty decent…

Gaylord Bureau – 1/21

The Gaylord area trails were groomed Tuesday Night! Grooming has been called off until we get more snow. Trails are rated in ‘FAIR’ condition at this time! The trails are showing some dirt spots in some areas! Caution is advised near Hayes Tower Road and Charles Brink Road! Old 27 is showing some dirt due to heavy traffic!
